The first memorial constructed was located in St Anne, IL, the hometown of Captain Ryan A. Beaupre, one of Illinois' first casualties in the war against terror. In early 2004, a granite memorial wall was then built featuring the names of all fallen soldiers resulted from the Middle East conflicts since 1967. On June 19, 2004, the wall was dedicated commemorating the servicemen and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. The Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial, located at 200 Riverfront Drive in Marseilles, Illinois, was built with donated material and labor. It is the first of its kind in the history of the United States. It honors our fallen soldiers by name while we are still in the war that caused the lost lives of our brave soldiers.
The founders Tony Cutrano and Jerry Kuczera spearheaded this project to ensure that those sacrificing their lives for our freedom were given the proper recognition for the selfless service to our great country.
